- Crow Country

As a big fan of early horror games, I couldn't wait for a sale when I recently came across this new release.
Crow Country is a survival horror game released this year that is clearly inspired by the first Resident Evil game. The exploration, the puzzles, the horror elements and even the save rooms.
The storyline is interesting, the map looks beautiful and the music generally has a bit of a melancholic yet calming vibe.
Although the game uses tank controls, you can still move around the camera, which honestly can take some getting used to. But once you get used to it, it's great.
But in my opinion, the combat is just too easy.
Don't get me wrong, the game is very good at horror, the puzzles are almost always a fun challenge and exploring the map, which almost constantly changes a little bit, is great.
But a big part of the horror is the monsters. While some of the enemies are actual bullet sponges, they never really pose a challenge because they move so slowly.
This is just a minor flaw in a great game, so I still highly recommend trying this out if it sounds like something you might be interested in.
It's definitely one of the PS1-style horror games that has come out in recent years that actually feels like a complete and fully-fledged game. However, if you've ever played a survival horror game before, I recommend playing on the highest difficulty setting right away.
